How To Fit Your Hubcentric Wheel Spacers or Shims
Firstly, thank you for purchasing your wheel spacers/shim spacers from pcdparts.co.uk. If you follow these steps carefully and do as instructed then these spacers/shims are simple and easy to fit at home providing you have the tools to do so.
**NEVER USE AN IMPACT SOCKET GUN, ALWAYS USE HAND TOOLS**
BEFORE YOU START
- CHECK ALL BOLTS ARE THE SAME LENGTH
- CHECK YOU HAVE THE CORRECT BOLT SEAT FOR YOUR WHEELS
- MEASURE THE REAR HUB SPIGOT AS 12MM & 15MM SPACERS DO NOT FIT ALL REAR AXLES IGNORE IF YOU ARE NOT FITTING 12MM OR 15MM TO THE REAR
Step 1. Simply unbolt your wheel and remove.
Step 2. Wire brush and wipe the bore and wheel hub clean, (must be dirt/rust free)
Step 3. Apply a little copper grease or similar to stop the faces sticking together.
Step 4. Slide the spacer on to your existing hub.
Step 5. Check the spacer is sitting flush/flat against the original hub with no visible gap. (THE SPACERS NEED TO SIT FLAT TO THE HUB WITH NO ROCKING MOVEMENT AT ALL)
IF THEY ARE NOT SITTING FLAT DO NO MOUNT THE WHEEL AND REMOVE THE SPACERS
Step 6. Gently position the wheel on to the spacer spigot taking care not to damage the machined surfaces.
Step 7. Secure the wheel with the extended bolts and torque them to the required specification.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STILL JACKED UP ROTATE THE WHEELS (ALL 4) TO CHECK THAT EACH WHEEL IS ROTATING FREELY AND NOT CATCHING ON THE BOLTS
We will not refund any spacers that have been damaged during fitting.
